Aside from gaining entry into one of the most interesting careers imaginable, an education in journalism provides excellent training in critical thinking, writing and presenting ideas. Armed with very transferrable knowledge, skills and experience, journalism graduates have gone on to write and deliver stories in newspapers, radio, television and the web. Graduates are also well prepared for careers in corporate and government communications.This program addresses the broad changes occurring in the media landscape and offers a progressive and refined curriculum that will allow you to focus on development of skills in the use of broadcast and electronic media. Students in this program will develop the essential skills, knowledge, and behaviours required to work in this progressive field. In the first year, students are introduced to the core journalism skills and will begin to focus on broadcast and online media platforms in the second year.
