• Program emphasis is on preparing graduates to function effectively within a collaborative relationship which includes the client, community and other healthcare providers. Students learn to provide dental hygiene care in a professional manner through a variety of learning experiences.
  • Students participate in seminars, case presentations, and community health practicums. Clinically, students progress from manikins to the supervised provision of self-initiated comprehensive dental hygiene care for clients presenting with diverse and complicated oral health needs.
  • Over three years, students acquire knowledge which allows them to experience the role of the dental hygienist as researcher, advocate, educator, administrator, clinician and health promoter.
