• Dalhousie University offers a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting for a duration of 4 years.
  • It is an on-campus, co-op program offered on a full-time basis.
  • In this program, students will learn the judgment and technical skills needed for external financial reporting and developing internal information used for management planning and control.
  • An average of B- between COMM 1101 (Intro to Accounting I - Financial) and COMM 1102 (Intro to Accounting II - Managerial) is required in order to major in Accounting.
  • Students have to complete the core courses in accounting, finance, marketing, statistics, and organizational behavior and students also have to complete these six additional courses:

  • Accounting majors will often continue their studies after graduation and complete a professional designation (CA, CMA, or CGA).
  • The professional accounting bodies allow certain exemptions in respect of courses taken in the Rowe School of Business.
  • The Rowe School of Business is accredited by AACSB International.
  • Students also have to complete a co-op program. After earning the Bachelor of Commerce degree, students may decide to pursue their Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
