• Networking and telecommunications is an ever-changing environment, with current game-changing technologies including 5G, software-defined networks (SDN), Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous drones, autonomous cars, heterogeneous broadband, cloud networks, and cognitive adaptive systems. With the changes, these technologies bring come opportunities to reshape not only the telecommunication industries but also the way we live.
  • This degree covers rapidly developing information communication technology networks, as well as software-defined networking for multi-layered, multi-band, multi-radio access technology; 4G and 5G mobile networks; software-defined networking for 5G networks, data centres and cloud networks; edge computing; cognitive radios; network functions virtualization; IoT network security and standards; and autonomous cars and smart cities where software-defined networking, 5G, and the cloud are shaping the future.
  • Students can choose between two specialisations: 'Telecommunications' or 'Internet of Things'.  Please click on the links at the bottom of this page to see further information on each of these choices.
