The Master of Public Administration (MPA) is the flagship degree of the Melbourne School of Government. An inter-disciplinary and globally-focused degree, the MPA is for leaders from the community, corporate and public sectors.
The MPA draws on the expertise of the University of Melbourne to develop the skills and competencies of professionals who operate in increasingly complex governing environments where challenges cut across disciplinary, organizational, sectoral, jurisdictional, and geographical boundaries.
The MPA focuses on the role of leaders and offers participants the opportunity to combine disciplinary expertise in political science, law, and business and economics with professional expertise in areas such as decision making, financial management, ethics, strategic management, leadership, and negotiation.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

To be considered for entry, the student must have completed:

An undergraduate degree with a major in a relevant discipline (computer science, data science, or statistics) with a weighted average mark (WAM) of at least 65 percent, and
12.5 points (one subject) of university-level computer science (or equivalent) with content focused on computer programming, and
Both the following subjects (or their equivalents):
- Calculus 2
- Linear Algebra.
GPA Of 4 on a 4 scale.

Work Experience Eligibility:

Students do not require any kind of work experience for this particular program.
If students have any work experience then the chances of accepting the applications are more.

Others:

If a student does not have a major in computer science and/or statistics, then he/she can explore the Graduate Diploma in Data Science as a starting point in this field.
When the student completes the Graduate Diploma in Data Science with a weighted average mark of above 65 percent, he/she may be eligible to move into the Master of Data Science and receive up to 50 points of advanced standing.

Submission of GRE scores is not compulsory for this program, however, it is recommended to submit a minimum GRE-300 for better a chance of admission.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

Statement of Purpose: An essay or other written statement written by the student.
Resume/CV: Outline of academic achievements and/or awards, publications, relevant work, and/or volunteer experience.
Academic Documents: Submit copies of official transcripts from post-secondary institutions attended.
Sample of written work: Student has to write something interesting as their sample essay in the application form.
Statement of Interest: Reasons or intentions for pursuing studies in this program, including a description of prior experience.
Two confidential letters of recommendation: Referees (Teachers, guidance counselors, or Professors) should comment on academics, and references should submit along with the application system.
